At Norton Manufacturing Company we machine top quality crankshafts for engines, pumps, and compressors.  We work with forgings, castings, and billets to precision machine crankshafts in sizes up to six feet in length.

Although the largest volume of Norton crankshafts are produced for the automotive industry, Norton produces cranks for farm equipment and aircraft engines as well.

At Norton Manufacturing Company, our machinery is not just dedicated for a certain configuration of crankshaft.  Each machine is capable of being setup on a wide variety of styles; from a four cylinder crank to a 12 cylinder crank, without sacrificing the quality of the part.

CNC Mills, grinders, lathes, and polishing tools are used to ensure the finest precision and accuracy when machining a customer’s part. Quality Assurance is not just a title at Norton Manufacturing Company, it’s the way we do business.  Every machined part receives the strictest scrutiny from the first operation through the last.  "Operators, inspectors, supervisors, and managers alike take part in assuring that the parts our customers receive meet Norton’s high quality standards, standards high enough to have enabled us to meet and exceed the TS14949 registration."

Norton Manufacturing utilizes state-of-the-art inspection equipment to assure that accuracy and precision are not compromised, and that the quality of each characteristic is maintained.  That is why we have been producing quality machined products for over 50 years.

Our computer-based metrology system assures that our gages are maintained at optimal performance condition and are traceable to NIST standards.  Scheduled Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility studies (GR&Rs) insure consistent readings are obtained and customer specifications are met.

Norton Manufacturing practices Statistical Process Control (SPC) to assure capability and control of our processes.  Continually monitoring our processes provides advanced warnings that enable us to predict and alter the course of processes before any defective product is produced.

Norton has the ability to rebuild or retool virtually all crankshaft machinery, no matter where in the world it was originally manufactured.  From setting up a dedicated production crankshaft line to retooling a grinder or lathe, Norton Manufacturing Company can accomplish the task.
