On June 8, 2000,
Fostoria, Ohio was all abuzz with excitement for the Norton
Manufacturing Companys 50th Anniversary Crankshaft
Extravaganza and Job Fair. Early
in the day, the Norton Human Resources Department held a job fair, which
brought out over 100 applicants. There,
the potential employees filled out applications, were tested, and toured
the factories. Then, around
3:00 p.m., all of the Norton Manufacturing employees were invited over
for a car show and dinner. Featured
in the show were two Dodge Vipers, one yellow Hummer, a Dodge Ram V-10
pick-up, a John Deere tractor, numerous classic cars, and a few sprint
cars. Rick Norton, the president of Norton Manufacturing Company, gave a
speech about the anniversary and what the employees mean to him.
Having this, a DJ, all of the cars, and good food, the Crankshaft
Extravaganza was a huge success.
